Are you are young person who is passionate about youth health? Do you want to make a difference in your community?
Youth Solutions is looking for young people aged between 17 – 25 years, who live, work, study or spend their recreation time in the Macarthur region to join its YAG!
The Youth Solutions YAG is a volunteer group of young people, meeting monthly to identify and find solutions to issues facing young people. YAG members also receive peer education training and are presented with a range of volunteering opportunities.
For more information, contact Youth Solutions’ Program Coordinator, Eden, on 4628 2319.
All YAG members are inducted and receive training to become peer educators. Accordingly, all applicants need to be available for a one-day training.
The learned peer education skills are then put into practise throughout the year, as YAG members assist Youth Solutions in facilitating workshops with other young people.
The YAG meet once a month to help identify issues young people face and, with support from Youth Solutions’ staff, develop solutions and strategies to address these issues.
The YAG also assists Youth Solutions in implementing and promoting a health promotion campaign. The current campaign is the #whyichoose campaign.
