Youth Solutions Turning Summer Safer campaign
Summer and its celebrations are in full swing and so too is Youth Solutions’ latest health promotion campaign, Turning Summer Safer. The local youth health service has spent the season advocating for young people to “always pick safety” as they dial up their summer celebrations.
The annual campaign, refreshed and launched back in November, provides young people with access to health literacy information about alcohol and safety, as part of the youth charity’s commitment to reducing drug and alcohol harm and increasing positive health behaviours.
Fresh into 2026, Youth Solutions is continuing to put forward tips and hacks young people can use to celebrate safely and reduce harm. The campaign is made possible thanks to support from campaign donor, The Hunt Family Community Foundation.
Youth Solutions Chief Executive Officer, Geraldine Dean, said the service was committed to normalising celebrations without alcohol, while supporting young people to be safe and reduce harm if they do choose to drink.
“Youth Solutions is offering young people some really practical ideas, tips and things they can do to keep themselves and their mates safe while they are celebrating this summer,” Mrs Dean said.
“The more we can share this kind of information in our community – alongside health promotion and harm prevention programs like the kind Youth Solutions provides year-round – the more likely we are to reduce harm from alcohol and shift attitudes that normalise risky alcohol use.”
Mrs Dean encouraged young people – and all those who support them – to check out the Turning Summer Safer campaign and chat about it with their friends and loved ones. She also extended her heartfelt thanks to the Hunt Family Community Foundation for it’s crucial support for the campaign.

The Hunt Family Community Foundation, established by the family of the late Harry Hunt OAM, has again thrown its support behind the Turning Summer Safe campaign, contributing a generous donation to fund the campaign. The Foundation, including longtime Youth Solutions supporter Sue-Lei Hunt Mingay, supports community projects and initiatives, continuing Mr Hunt’s legacy as a champion and supporter of the South-West Sydney community.
