The Peer Enrichment and Empowerment Project (PEEP) is a Youth Solutions core project that aims to empower youth volunteers aged 16 – 25 to:

  • develop and implement harm prevention and health promotion activities
  • increase the alcohol and other drug knowledge and skills in health behaviours of their peers

Youth volunteers who are involved in the Youth Solutions’ Youth Advisory Group take part in the Peer Education Training Program to become Peer Educators.

A Youth Solutions’ Peer Educator is a knowledgeable, skilled and confident youth volunteer who works alongside Youth Solutions staff to deliver drug and alcohol harm prevention and health promotion presentations to their peers, making the content more relatable to young people.

Our Peer Educators are mainly involved in the delivery of the SAFE Series presentations – Drive SAFE and Party SAFE. Peer Educators are also heavily involved in the development and the implementation of the annual peer led #whyichoose campaign and the annual Safer Celebrations Campaign.
