With her rich ties to the region dating back to her childhood, Mrs Dean said she was proud to be part of the Campbelltown community and was overwhelmed and honoured to receive the prestigious award.
“I went to school here, I have made lifelong friends here, I started my professional career here and I bought my first home here, so I really know how much Campbelltown can be a place of opportunity and I have benefited from that,” Mrs Dean said.
“I also understand that Campbelltown is a complex community with unique challenges and, for young people in particular, not everybody starts off on the same playing field and are afforded the same opportunities.”
“It’s up to leaders in our community to ensure that we address the challenges that our community faces and continue to improve the social and health outcomes for all of our community members.”
“There are a lot of passionate people in this community and there is a great feeling of community spirit, with so many people and organisations working together to improve people’s lives. I feel privileged that in a small way I am able to contribute to that.”
“I am truly honoured to receive this award. This award also acknowledges all the people around me as well. I’m incredibly lucky to lead an organisation with people that are incredibly passionate about what they do and about making a difference in the lives of other people.”
