McDonald’s in Macarthur 2017 McHappy Time to raise funds for Youth Solutions

A special event is coming to McDonald’s in Macarthur stores next week and community members are encouraged to get behind it and do their bit for the region’s young people.

McDonald’s in Macarthur will launch its 2017 McHappy Time on Wednesday, 14 June. The program will run until Saturday 24 June 2017, culminating with an in-store fun day featuring loads of family fun.

Between 14 and 24 June, community members are encouraged to head into their local McDonald’s store to purchase the $2 McHappy Time token. All funds from the token sales will be donated to local youth charity Youth Solutions, in support of the service’s youth drug and alcohol prevention programs.

Youth Solutions Chief Executive Officer Geraldine Dean thanked McDonald’s in Macarthur and encouraged the community the get behind the 2017 McHappy Time program.

“This is your chance to be part of the solution and make a huge difference in the lives of our local young people for just $2,” Mrs Dean said.

“We’d like to see everyone in our community head into our local McDonald’s stores between 14 and 24 June and donate $2 for the McHappy Time token, to support Youth Solutions and the region’s young people.”

“We are particularly calling on people to come in store on the Saturday, 24 June for the McHappy Time fun day. The Youth Solutions team and volunteers will be hopping behind the counter on the Saturday ready to chat with customers and share our charity’s work with the community. So be sure come by, say hello and purchase the $2 token to support our charity.”

Mrs Dean said all the funds raised from the 2017 McHappy Time program would help Youth Solutions to continue and expand its youth drug and alcohol prevention and education programs with young people across Macarthur and Wingecarribee.

“We’d like to thank McDonald’s in Macarthur for its support of Youth Solutions through the 2017 McHappy Time program. Their support through this program will help Youth Solutions to better support young people and build the knowledge, skills and resilience needed to prevent them from drug and alcohol related harm.”

Peter Meadows, Owner Operator of McDonald’s in Macarthur, believes as the largest employer of youth in the area that the partnership is a natural fit and all McDonald’s employees will be working hard as ambassadors for Youth Solutions helping to raise much needed funds.

McDonald’s in Macarthur is proud to be a supporting Youth Solutions in its initiatives to support our youth,” he said.
