Back to all News McHappy Time gives youth charity 28,000 reasons to smile Posted on 28th Jun 2017 McDonald’s in Macarthur 2017 McHappy Time raises $28,476 for Youth Solutions An incredible $28,476 has been raised to support the youth of Macarthur through the McDonald’s in Macarthur 2017 McHappy Time. The McDonald’s in Macarthur initiative raised the funds for local youth charity Youth Solutions through the sale of $2 tokens between 14 and 24 June. The 2017 McHappy Time culminated with an in-store fun day on Saturday at the Macarthur stores to support the initiative. Youth Solutions Chief Executive Officer Geraldine Dean said the charity was overwhelmed by the incredible support it had received from McDonald’s in Macarthur and the community. “We are blown away by the amount raised and the level of support we have received,” Mrs Dean said. “We cannot thank McDonald’s in Macarthur enough for selecting Youth Solutions as the beneficiary of this fantastic community program.” “We’d also like to thank all of the wonderful community members who supported the McHappy Time program and purchased the $2 tokens; your support has been pivotal to the success of this initiative.” “Partnering with McDonald’s in Macarthur for the 2017 McHappy Time program has been such a pleasure and it has helped us greatly to raise our profile and boost awareness of our charity within this community.” “The McDonald’s in Macarthur team really share the values that Youth Solutions does when it comes to supporting and investing in our young people.” “The $28,476 raised will do incredible things for our charity. It will help us to strengthen our programs, utilise additional resources and in essence, it will mean we can reach more local young people with our important drug and alcohol prevention and education programs and messages.” Youth Solutions Youth Advisory Group member Samantha McAuley said the McHappy Time program also gave Youth Solutions’ staff and volunteers a great opportunity to chat with young people and community members, particularly during the in-store fun day. “McHappy Time was a great and fun initiative to be a part of and it gave us a chance to talk with local people, particularly other young people,” Miss McAuley said. “We were able to share some information about alcohol and other drugs, making safer choices and how getting help and support if you need it.” Peter Meadows, Owner Operator of McDonald’s in Macarthur, said: “McDonald’s Macarthur are proud to partner with Youth Solutions to raise these much-needed funds.
