Back to all News Youth Solutions’ health promotion campaign positively received in community Posted on 7th Feb 2019 Youth Solutions’ What about tomorrow? Celebrate Safe. Campaign may be wrapping up, but its important messages about minimising alcohol-related harm to our young people will continue to live on. The health promotion campaign, which sought to provide support and resources to young people in the community about how to minimise their risk of experiencing alcohol-related harm, was delivered in partnership with Campbelltown Catholic Club and supported by media partners C91.3FM and the Campbelltown-Macarthur, Camden-Narellan and Wollondilly Advertisers. Through the implementation of several multimedia and health promotion strategies the What about tomorrow? Celebrate Safe. campaign helped to equip young people with the knowledge and the skills to make informed decisions to keep themselves and their friends safe while out celebrating. An important message, particularly during the celebration season. Close to 2500 safer celebration guides and promotional products were distributed to young people and community members over the holiday season from November 2018 to the end of January 2019. Youth Solutions YAG members Kristie Evans and Kassee Loomes host a campaign stall at Campbelltown Catholic Club. Campaign co-lead, and Youth Solutions Community Relations and Communications Coordinator, Brooke Manzione said that promotional products were well received in the community: “The resources that the Youth Solutions’ team distributed were timely and relevant. The Safer Celebrations Guide included tips about how to respond in emergency situations and sought to raise awareness about respecting other’s limits, sending the message that it is perfectly acceptable to not drink if one chooses, to plan ahead, and to call it a night.” Youth Solutions CEO Geraldine Dean said she was pleased with the reach of the campaign and thankful for the support of partnering organisations: “Every year we wish to connect with more young people via the Safer Celebrations Campaign through a range of mediums. On behalf of the Youth Solutions team I would like to extend my thanks to the Campbelltown Catholic Club for partnering with us again this year and to our media partners C91.3FM and the Campbelltown-Macarthur, Camden-Narellan and Wollondilly Advertisers, who assisted in circulating the campaign messages to thousands of young people in our community.” For more information visit www.youthsolutions.com.au.
