With the NSW lockdown having significant impact on our community’s mental health, Youth Solutions is reminding everyone to stay connected and reach out for help as a part of their Connect campaign.
The campaign coincides with #MentalHealthMonth and highlights the incredible support services available within the Macarthur, Wingecarribee and surrounding regions of NSW. Through their referral & information service, Youth Solutions is helping connect you (or someone you know) in need of support, to the right service providers, for a wide range of health and social issues, including drug & alcohol issues, accommodation & homelessness, and mental health. The team recognises that whilst we have so many incredible support services in our community, it can often be overwhelming for people to navigate information and find the right service, especially during a time of need.
On top of helping to connect individuals, families and the community to support services, the campaign focuses on providing practical advice & information to prioritise wellbeing and stay connected. Whilst restrictions continue to ease, they acknowledge that readjusting to the new normal may bring its own set of challenges.
“Throughout the lockdown period, we’ve seen an increase in referrals & information. We certainly hope that the easing of restrictions will help to alleviate some of the anxiety people may be dealing with and want to remind everyone that there is never a bad time to connect, seek support and prioritise your wellbeing” says Karen Yuen, Community Development & Partnerships Coordinator.
The Connect campaign will run through to November, with the goal to encourage connection and increase referral & information support services provided within our community, with a focus on mental health.
