The Mac supports Youth Solutions’ community youth projects

Credit union gives funds to support delivery of programs that reduce drug and alcohol related harm among young people

The Mac has generously gifted $5000 to Youth Solutions to assist it in delivering its youth programs in the Macarthur and Wingecarribee regions.

The credit union, which has branches in Camden, Narellan, Picton and Tahmoor, prides itself on its core values of being “friendly, helpful and supportive” – it is a bank with a “heart”.

While these values largely relate to its products and services, the organisation has adopted those same ethics in its community mission.

“When it comes to supporting our community, we want to make a change that is helpful, friendly and supportive; a change with a positive impact for locals; a change that will last a lifetime,” The Mac states on its website.

To that end, The Mac didn’t need convincing that Youth Solutions was a perfect fit for its core values.

Youth Solutions delivers health education projects and campaigns that focus on promoting health and preventing drug and alcohol harm to young people and the wider community.

It also offers an information and referral service, linking people in the Macarthur and Wingecarribee areas with the information, support and services they need.

Youth Solutions chief executive officer Geraldine Dean thanked The Mac for its generosity and support of the charity’s programs and campaigns.

“Our work includes implementing health promotion education programs which make a positive difference in the lives of young people, with the goal of improving their health and social outcomes,” Mrs Dean said. “Our youth-targeted projects and campaigns form an important cog in the wheel for improving the health, wellbeing and resilience of young people in our community.”
